Transform into an NPC
Character Menu is a free utility mod where players can become any of the hundreds of NPCs in Grand Theft Auto V. Users must ensure that the Script Hook V is installed and the CharacterMenuTrainer.asi or CharacterMenu.asi files are placed in the GTA V folder.
Customize an NPC model
Out of the 500 NPCs in Character Menu, around 350 of the characters can be customized, while the rest remain uncustomizable. By transforming into a customizable NPC, you have complete freedom over their physical appearance and attire. A quicksave and named save file system are also being planned by Dalton.
Despite the mod’s premise, it is riddled with bugs. For example, the game severely limits what you do in-game, such as going into shops, as it recognizes you as an NPC, not a playable character. Gun attachments are also lost if you change to a different NPC model.
Limited in-game actions
More than just transforming you into GTA V NPC, Character Menu also lets you customize an NPC's appearance as you deem fit, adding a layer of personalization. There’s a catch, though. By being an NPC, you won’t be able to do most of the things a playable character does in-game.
